She told me that she had been using makeshift solutions like toilet paper and old rags, and that it was really uncomfortable and embarrassing for her.
After she started using the pads, she was able to come to school more regularly and focus on her studies. Her grades improved significantly, and she seemed so much happier and more confident. I was really touched by the impact that such a small thing could have on someone's life. It's so important to address issues like period poverty and make sure that all students have access to the supplies they need to stay healthy and succeed in school." Since I started using the sanitary pads, I have been able to attend school and work without any interruptions. I no longer have to worry about leaks or discomfort during the day. It has also given me a sense of dignity and self-confidence, knowing that I have access to a basic necessity that many girls and women around the world are denied. Ester
Since the start of this project in 2022, about 3,200 girls aged 13-17 from 16 secondary schools have been directly impacted through school workshops. Additionally, over 2,500 girls have been indirectly reached through weekend radio programs that encourage participation. This make total of 5700 as campaign participant beneficiaries.
Our vision is to empower girls who are at risk of falling behind in their studies due to a lack of sanitary pads. We also aim to provide education on how to manage their health.
Before march 8 2025, 500 girls have benefited directly from the project, while an additional 600 girls have gain health education from our partners during the campaign. The project is community owned, and listeners are encouraged to voluntarily donate boxes of pads to the radio station through advertisements and promotions aired during the campaign.

"I just wanted to share a quick story about one of my students who was struggling with her period. She was missing a lot of school because she couldn't afford to buy sanitary pads, and it was really affecting her grades and her overall well-being. I didn't know what to do to help her until Moshi fm and other Donors came in and donated some pads to our school. When I gave them to her, she was so grateful and relieved.
